The Pre-Kindergarten class is designed for children 4 and 5 years old and is more structured than Preschool. Reading and math readiness skills are emphasized with a formal learning session each day. Time is also provided for choice play, art, music, motor skills, self-help skills and social interaction.
Our Pre-Kindergarten program features thoughtfully-designed activities that stimulate the mind and provide opportunities for hands-on play and socialization. Children are prepared, academically and socially, for a smooth transition into kindergarten and develop the confidence they need to excel at the next level of education. Learning experiences during the early childhood years provide a foundation that guides children academically, socially and emotionally. In Pre-Kindergarten, we strive to provide an atmosphere that fosters a positive self-concept, and where independence and choice are encouraged.
A typical day in our Pre-Kindergarten class is designed to transition children through guided activities that support their development and growth. Our classroom contains a rich assortment of age-appropriate books selected to enhance our thematic units. Teachers work with individual children, small groups, and the whole group at different times during the day.
When children enter our Pre-K classroom, they know they are important, loved and respected. Our class runs on love, laughter and tons of prayer!
