The Pre-Kindergarten class is designed for children 4 and 5 years old. The program is more structured than pre-school, and emphasizes reading and math readiness skills with a formal learning session each day. Time is also provided for free play, art, music, motor skills, self-help skills and social interaction.
In our Pre-K classroom, each child is provided with hands-on, cooperative play and thoughtfully designed activities that stimulate the mind and provide socialization opportunities. Our program prepares children academically and socially for a smooth transition into Kindergarten, which makes confident children that will prosper at the next level of education. Learning experiences during the preschool years provide a foundation that guide children academically, socially and emotionally. Our classroom strives to provide an atmosphere where self-concept is enhanced and independence and choices are encouraged.
A typical day in our Pre-K class is designed to transition children through guided activities that support their development and growth. Our classroom has a rich assortment of age appropriate books that enhance our thematic units. Teachers work with individual children, small groups, and the whole group at different times during the day.
When children enter our Pre-K classroom, they know they are important, loved and respected. “Our class runs on Love, Laughter and tons of Prayer.”
